OK, SO WHY BALA DATTA?

Bala Datta program has started under the guidance and divine blessings of His Holiness Parama Pujya Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji. Bala Datta is a Child Enrichment Program conducted by non-profit organization, Datta Yoga Center, D.C chapter (DYCDC) with the help of dedicated volunteer teachers. At Bala Datta your child will: • learn Shlokas, Bhajans, Moral Stories, Indian traditions and festivals, our deities their symbolism and significance. • Learn Srimad Bhagawad Gita and Sri Vishnu Sahasranama chanting classes. • Learn to write, read, speak and understand your mother-tongue or learn an entirely new Indian language. • Get the opportunity to do the selfless volunteer service to community. Bala Datta is molding and building great character so the children can carry the rich Hindu beliefs and traditions for several generations into future.

Who can join?

Bala Datta is for children from Pre-KG through High School. In Bala Datta, children learn religious practices, prayers, bhajans, the significance of holy days, and spiritual values. They read Ramayana and other religious scriptures. Class size is limited to ensure individual attention.The teachers are dedicated volunteers who are knowledgeable and experienced to impart religious values to children. Sri Swamiji's vision for Bala Datta is to make children grow up spiritually and inspire them to be good human beings. Kids (10+ years) are introduced to and trained in leadership skills including how to give presentations and public speaking. Topics for presentations and public speaking are based on what they learned in the class during that school year.

How & when to enroll?

To enroll your child(ren), please fill up Registration Form. One time registration is good enough. No need to register every year. All registrations submitted after commencement of current academic year will be automatically considered for next academic year and will be given preference. Minimum age to enroll (age cut-off is Aug 31). for Religion class is 4 years for Language class is 5 years The annual renewal of existing students takes place from mid April to mid May. After this, new students will be accepted on a space-available basis. An email will be sent to all the parents who already registered online and waiting for confirmation. The available seats will be allocated on First Come First Served basis.

Samāpta dīkṣā munayo babhūvuḥ tam bāla dattam śaraṇam prapadye||
(Śrī Datta Dhyāna Mālikā)

Though the form of Bāla Datta (infant form of Lord Datta) is small, it holds immense luster. By constantly meditating upon His holy feet, the sages achieve fulfillment of their penance. I take refuge in that infant form of Lord Datta.

Bala Datta Pledge: As a leader of the future, I pledge service, dedication, and compassion to the society I live in, through mentoring, random acts of kindness, and volunteering my time and efforts to local causes. As an individual I pledge to make a conscious effort for personal and spiritual growth to be a better human being and to accept the ideas and contributions of others. I pledge to be a helping hand to those who need assistance or guidance and to comfort them in a way that they feel secure. I pledge to make a difference with everything I do to respect others, to feed the hungry, and to set a worthy example for all children to follow. Sri Swamiji, please give me the honor, integrity, self-control and courage to help make a better, more peaceful society for everyone.
